BASIX – What is it and when do I need one?

The Building Sustainability Index (BASIX) aims to deliver equitable, effective water and greenhouse gas reductions across the state. BASIX is implemented under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act (EP&A Act). BASIX applies to all residential dwelling types and is part of the development application process in NSW. NatHERS – What is it and when do I need it?

National House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) is a star rating system (out of ten) that rates the energy efficiency of a home based on its design. NatHERS can be used for all residential dwelling types and is an effective way to reduce construction costs by undertaking a thermal comfort simulation through the second generation BERS Pro software. Section J Report – What is it and when do I need it?

Section J of t. Building Code of Australia (BCA) and relates to Energy Efficiency and requires that all new commercial building projects (including change of use and renovations) in Classes 2-9, have a compliance report completed, generally at the Construction Certificate (CC) stage to demonstrate compliance with this Section.
